Lewin Library

Selling Price: $4,800.00

This piece is made of red oak mixed with some white oak to accent the door panels.  This piece was created by taking different elements and ideas from European antique furniture found throughout the customers’ home.  Notice the shelves are held with a dental shelf rail.  Also note the crown look is not actually crown molding, but rather solid architectural molding.  Finished with two coats of “Deep Walnut” Velvit Oil.

Valeria  Deco-Case

Selling Price $4,350.00

A flowing unit standing 10 ft tall. This piece is made of Poplar and Engineered Birch. The color is a brilliant white accomplished with three coats of White lacquer. Like a picture out of a magazine this one really filled the room

“Ross” Book Unit

Selling price: $ 1,520

Made from local Black Cherry. The sides are a solid 12” wide piece 7 feet long. The shelves are glued 2” wide pieces to reduce warping over time. The shelves are hung by a dental shelf bracket with a removable piece of wood for the shelf rest. Finished with Natural Velvit Oil. Allowed to dry for two weeks. Then a second coat of Mahogany Velvit Oil was applied to give the tenured look.

Golden Maple

Made from solid Soft Maple. A beautiful and simplistic piece. The blemishes show very well on this piece. An oil over a golden stain highlighted them even more. The natural occurance of blemish in Maple is never a blemish in my book.. This one made Grain look boring.

Chapman Empire Case

Yet another beautiful piece made from solid Hickory. This piece duplicates a standing desk from the Napoleanic Era.  A most elegant edition to any room. Finished with a bottom coat of Antique Cherry by general Finishes and then layerd with “Deep Walnut” Velvit Oil. A rubbed Varnish was added to the drawer fronts and column edges.

The Shandy Collection

The Shandy Collection was made of solid yellow Birch. The cases were dovetailed on all corners. A very simple design with a great hardware choice by the customer. The finish turned out great on the birch showing red and gold accents throughout the wood. It bears the name of the customer’s Golden Retreiver.

Selling Price: $4,870

The Eagle’s Landing

The Eagle’s Landing was a piece that would have usually taken three weeks to build but was delayed by two months due to Hurricane Ivan. This is a piece I will always remember because of it being so difficult to finish while we all recovered. This piece is 80% Enginneered Oak with solid Oak for the doors and all of the facing. A mixture of the old with the new referring to the dental shelf brackets along with brass pegs for the smaller shelf openings. Finished with Velvit Product’s Golden Honey. Specail Thanks to the Sugg’s Family and for everyone who beared with us through the devastating storm.

Blessings Barrister

Selling price: $1,760.00

"The Blessings Barrister Bookcase consists of four sections of solid Ash and Oak.. The only hardware found on this one are the distressed brass knobs and the cupboard style locks. Instead of hardware for the door slides we used a dowel and groove system that is time tested. This piece stands about 6' tall, is 42" wide with a depth of 14". The finish color is Velvit Product's (Deep Walnut). Only two coats were  needed for the durable wood."
