The 4x8 top shown to the left displays a beautiful semi-gloss shine with only one coat of �Deep Walnut� Velvit Oil. Burnishing instead of sanding is the best route to take when finishing this wood. The top is attached using handmade maple L brackets. These are inserted into a groove in the back of the skirt and then screwed into the bottom of the table top. This allows the top to float on the skirt without binding from the natural but minimal wood movement. Stop by again to see what else I will be building from this beautiful Recoverd Heart Pine in the near future.

	<A mortise and tenon joint is used to attach the table legs to the table�s skirt. Then two through pins are inserted through the outside of the leg and through the tenon of the skirt. Note: the two pins on the outside of the bench�s leg.


	<The benches were equipped with a full 90 degree opening seat/lid. Perfect for storage of the flatware and table linens.


	See the obvious difference between the Older Heart Pine compared to the pine that is available on the market.


	It was almost a shame to take the table back inside after seeing the beautiful colors the sun brought out of the Heart Pine
