Made from recovered Heart Pine in a Trestle Style to match a piece that would be found in the Castle’s of the Netherlands. This table will completely break down if needed just the same as they did hundreds of years ago. Table sells for 3,980.00 without chairs.

This table is made of African Mahogany.A modified Parson’s method was used for leaf storage under the table top. It measures 5’ x5’ and 5’ x 9.5’ with the leaves at the ends. The hutch at right was made to match. Finished with General Finishes Java Gel stain and Bartley’s Gel Varnish.

We were lucky enough to have our customer’s 2 year old princess to pose for us and show the table’s scale.

Some things are better left alone. The Cedar used for this piece was stored in mechanic’s shop for some thirty years. Table measures 3.5’ x 6.5’ The only part finished was the top. Look closely you can still see the saw marks on the trestle.

The lumber used for the top of this Irish Style Farm Table is Old Growth Heart Pine recovered from the Yellow River. This Pine was harvested some 100- 120 years ago. At some point in floating the log down the river, it became water logged and sank. This is where it remained until  2001 when it was recovered by Resource Recovery of Pensacola, Florida. After being recovered, the Heart Pine is allowed to dry for several weeks and then put through a Kiln to set the optimum moisture level.To read more about the history of this wood and the process of recovering it, continue to www.heartpine.org
