Geoghagan Woodwork, LLC

Pensacola, Florida

850-479-8429

There was a time when people bought furniture from the craftsman who made them. Today that way of doing things has been replaced by a multinational distribution system with no personal interaction. I hope that I can change that experience for you.

My company is unique by today's standards, in that I will accept your designs, pictures, or ideas and turn them into a beautiful three dimensional reality.  This way, your designed piece can truly become one of your family's heirlooms which began with you. You will even have the option to name it for our records. I have a great passion for what I do and I pride myself in building wood creations with a quality that will last lifetimes.  I  am proud to be a 7th generation crafstman and to follow in the footsteps of my father and both of my Grandfathers. Many of the methods I use in joinery and finishing furniture have been tried and true for generations.

Geoghagan Woodwork is located in beautiful Pensacola, Florida. This “City of Five Flags” was influenced through the years by the French, Spanish, English, and the “Old South.”  These influences can be readily seen in our area and in the furniture that I am commisioned to design.  Also, 70% of the wood used is often harvested locally and in an environmentally safe manner. (related Newspaper Article) This combination gives the furniture a  tasteful, “local flavor.”

Here are just a few examples of my work

I am asked quite often why I do not take the time to write a detailed book on furniture making. The simple answer is, I would rather teach by example through my work.  There is a difference in seeing a finish through a camera’s eye in a periodical and truely feeling the velvety touch of that same hand-rubbed finish in person. It is hard to tell someone that the last 10% of a project which is the finish they see took up 90% of the total time crafting it.

If I write a book about furniture it will be about the joy and passion of finding that tree that fell in the woods to pulling one from the river bottom. Then, cutting it to plank form and being completely surprised everytime at the beauty of the grain and color. Finally, waiting for that right project where this unique tree’s bounty can be displayed for everyone to see, touch, and enjoy. My name is Bradley Geoghagan and I am in the business of building lifetime wood creations and lasting friendships.
